The Shield wants to take a moment to congratulate DTRA’s newest Russian linguists!

The Defense Language Institute’s Foreign Language Center in Monterey, Calif. has an interesting video about the latest graduation of DTRA’s Russian Linguist Course. The class spent nearly a year training to understand Russian language and culture. Following the training, the students will use their skills to support a number of DTRA missions including Arms Control and Verification, Cooperative Threat Reduction and others aimed at combating the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction. DTRA and DLI have been partners since 1998, working to train DTRA personnel to become linguists that can support the agency’s missions.
